The practices in the Field Trip are designed to trigger moments of insight -- moments in which you’ve stepped outside your habitual ways of viewing life, yourself, or other people.
These insights can allow you see some aspect of life differently than you ever have. It’s impossible to know how a practice will affect a given person, because our habitual ways of seeing differ so much. Some differences you might notice:
- a deeper connection to other people
- a greater sense of agency and freedom
- the feeling that you're an integral part of time and history
- an expanded sense of what's possible in a day, a year, or a lifetime
- a measure of peace with difficulty or uncertainty
- a richness and profundity in ordinary experience
- gratitude for still being alive
- feeling more at ease in the world
The Raptitude Field Trip is a series of experiments, not a prescription. You might bounce off some exercises completely, have fleeting glimpses of perspective with others, and a few might resonate deeply. That's why we're doing a series of them. Different minds will have different insights, and there's nothing in particular that's supposed to happen.
